Environmental Compliance and Sustainability

SHREDDING A HARD DRIVE CREATES A SOUP OF POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS MATERIAL THAT MUST BE DISPOSED OF ACCORDING TO ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS

Hard Drive Recycling and Regulatory Compliance

Hard drives, PDA’s, Cell Phones, USB drives and other solid state data storage media are all electronic devices and subject to environmental disposal regulations. 25 states have regulations requiring the proper disposal of electronic devices.

Back Thru The Future is a NJ DEP permitted Class D universal waste-consumer electronics processing facility, one of only 9 permitted facilities in the state. Universal waste is a Federal EPA hazardous waste classification that has been adopted by all 50 states. We are registered with the Federal EPA as a universal waste processor and our environmental compliance documentation is a regulatory recognized document in all 50 states.

Hard Disk Shredding for Environmental Sustainability

Because we specialize in the secure destruction of electronic data storage devices we have been able to develop a highly specialized materials sorting system that allows us to recapture nearly 100% of the materials that emerge from our hard drive shredder. We have come as close to making a computer hard drive an environmentally sustainable product as anyone in the world.
